Uttar Pradesh Climate

The climate of the state is tropical monsoon, but variations exist because of difference in altitudes.

There are three distinct seasons -

Summer season is from March-June. The summers are hot & dry. The temperatures rise to 45ºC, sometimes 47-48ºC. There is low relative humidity of about (20%) and dust laden winds flow throughout the season.

Monsoon season is from June-September. The state receives 85% of average annual rainfall of 990 mm. The temperature is around 40-45°C on rainy days.

Winter season starts from October-February. The temperature is around 3-4ºC and sometimes below -1ºC.
