Ambedkar Nagar is an administrative district of Uttar Pradesh with its head quarters located at Akbarpur. The district forms the part of Faizabad division. The district has been named in the memory of the father of Indian constitution Dr. Bheem Rao Ambedkar who worked for the upliftment of the weaker sections of society and also for women. Ambedkar Nagar is famous for Tanda terracotta. The main business depends on farming and power looms. Ambedkar Nagar is also the birth place of Shri Ram Manohar Lohia, renowned freedom fighter and a very well known political leader.

Tourist Places in Ambedkar Nagar
The Ambedkar Nagar district is home to the shrine of Ashraf Jahangir Semnani in kicchocha sharif. According to The Ramayana Shravan Kumar was killed here by King Dashratha (father of Lord Rama) and annual fair is held at Shravan Kshetra on Magha Purnima (February full moon). Mahadev mandir which is situated in Beedi village is also a tourist place. There is a devotee place called Shiv baba situated at Akbarpur to khateri road. Shri govind sahib is also another spiritual place there.
