Ghaziabad District
Ghaziabad is a district of Uttar Pradesh with its headquarters located at Ghaziabad city. Before 14th November 1976, Ghaziabad was a Tehsil of District
Meerut. Ghaziabad city lies on the Grand Trunk road about a mile east
of the Hindon River. Owing to its close proximity towards Delhi, it acts
as the main entrance of Uttar Pradesh and for this reason it is known as the gateway to Uttar Pradesh.
Ghaziabad district is bounded on the north by the district
of Meerut, on the south by that of Bulandshahar & Gautambudh Nagar
and on the south- west by the national capital Delhi State and on the
east by the district Jyotibaphule Nagar. Ghaziabad is an important industrial base in Uttar Pradesh.
