Hardoi district is situated in the central part of Uttar Pradesh. The administrative seat is at Hardoi town. The district shares common boundaries with the districts of Shahjahanpur & Lakhimpur Kheri districts
in the North, Lucknow (capital of U.P) & Unnao in the South, Kanpur
(Industrial City of U.P) & Farrukhabad in the West and river Gomati
separates the district from Sitapur on the eastern border. Hardoi district is a part of Lucknow division.
