Kaushambi District

Kaushambhi is an administrative district of Uttar Pradesh with its headquarters located at Manjhanpur town. This newly formed district was carved out of Allahabad district on 4th April 1997. The town Manjhanpur is situated in the southwest of Allahabad city on the north bank of river Yamuna. The district shares common boundaries with districts Chitrakoot in the south, Pratapgarh in the north, Allahabad in the east & Fatehpur in the west. The district forms a part of Allahabad division.

How to Reach


By Rail : Allahabad and Kanpur are nearest railway stations to Manjhanpur. Two other rail heads within the town limit are Sirathu and Bharwari.

By Road :
The district head quarter Manjhanpur is around 55 km away from Allahabad. The headquarters town Manjhanpur is well linked to rest parts of the state with frequent buses from Allahabad and Mooratganj.
