Kheri District

Lakhimpur Kheri is one of the 70 administrative districts of Uttar Prdaesh with its headquarters located at Kheri town. The district shares an international border with Nepal in the North. Districts Shahjahanpur & Pilibhit are located in the west, Behraich district in the east and district Hardoi in the South. The district forms a part of Lucknow division.

Kheri is famous for its sugarcane industry. Some of the biggest sugar mills are present in the district. Kheri town is also the gateway to the Dudhwa National Park, the only national park in Uttar Pradesh.

Lakhimpur city is 135 Km far from Lucknow, the state capital. It can be easily approached by train (meter gauge) or UPSRTC buses. Delhi is located at a distance of 425 km from Kheri. Nearest airport is at Lucknow (135 km).
