Mirzapur is one of the 70 administrative districts of Uttar Pradesh with headquarters at Mirzapur town. It forms a portion of Varanasi division. The district is bounded on the north and north-east by Varanasi district; on the south by district Sonbhadra; and on the south west by the district of Allahabad.

Delhi and Kolkata and also equidistant from Allahabad and Varanasi. The district
is famous for carpet and brassware industry. There are some worth
visiting sites in and around the city including many hills such as
Rajdari, Devdari, Lakhaniyadari, and Windom fall range and Sirshi.
